Kira Dale
Kira Dale is a member of the firm’s Litigation section. Prior to joining Kirton McConkie, she served as magistrate judge in Ada County, Idaho, where she presided over a general criminal docket and the Ada County Domestic Violence Court. Kira also contributed to statewide judicial improvement as a member of the Idaho Supreme Court Criminal Jury Instructions Committee and as a 2023 Judicial Engagement Network Fellow, where she worked to expand batterers intervention programming options specifically for local, New American communities.
Before joining the bench, Kira served as a career law clerk and staff attorney to six judges in the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho, gaining deep experience in civil rights, constitutional law, and federal procedure. In private practice, she was a litigation partner at Hepworth, Janis, and Kluksdal, focusing on complex civil cases, including product liability, malpractice, and appellate matters. Her early legal career included roles with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission and Stoel Rives LLP.
Kira holds a JD from the University of Utah, where she graduated Order of the Coif and earned a certificate in natural resources and environmental law. She earned her undergraduate degree in political science and economics from Duke University, where she also competed on the varsity swim team.
An engaged member of the legal community, she has served on multiple professional boards, mentored new attorneys, and taught trial advocacy as an adjunct professor at the University of Idaho College of Law. Outside the courtroom, she is a dedicated trail runner and active member of the local swimming community.
