Overview

Timothy Anderson is a member of Kirton McConkie’s International Practice section and is affiliated with the Corporate section. He also serves as chair of the Southern Utah Legal Services section, a branch office in St. George, Utah, with more than 10 attorneys. He focuses on international commercial law and international sales-related projects through the EU and parts of Asia. He is also passionately involved in matters that arise from and affect the economy and environs of southern and rural Utah, where he has resided for his entire career as a lawyer.

After spending the first decade of his career as a trial lawyer, Mr. Anderson repented and converted to a transactional practice, which in addition to dealing with emerging international matters, also focused on business in southern Utah, where he has assisted clients with direct selling (multi-level selling); commercial and recreational real estate development, including ski resorts, golf courses, medical service, and technology companies; public lands; and environmental matters. He has facilitated the move of tech companies and large retail centers to the area. He also represents clients in mediations and arbitrations.

Mr. Anderson was instrumental in bringing to Utah its second major medical school, Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and he chaired its Utah advisory board. His legal practice and public involvement is interwoven with government relations, higher education, technology development, and certain areas of healthcare.

He has served as outside counsel to the Space Dynamics Lab at Utah State University, a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency facility; a trustee of the University of Utah (member of the university's Executive Committee for six of his eight years on the board); a trustee of the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics; a member of the State Board of Business and Economic Development; chair of the state’s Centers of Excellence Review Committee; and president of the Dixie College Foundation.
