Joseph V. Osmond

Joseph Osmond graduated con honores from Georgetown University Law Center and is a member of the firm’s Litigation and First Amendment and Religious Organizations sections. His practice focuses, in part, on real estate-based commercial litigation, including boundary line disputes, easement disputes, construction defects, land use controversies, real property acquisitions, and title issues. Mr. Osmond has also developed an expertise in Title IX and other civil rights defense, and has developed a significant skill set in complex discovery and motion practice.

 

Mr. Osmond earned a bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University and worked as a police officer and social worker prior to attending law school at Georgetown University Law Center, where he graduated con honores. He served as a litigation fellow with the Utah Attorney General’s Office child protection unit and as an extern with the United States Department of Justice in Washington, DC, child exploitation prosecution unit.

 

Mr. Osmond currently serves on the advisory board for the Utah County Children’s Justice Center and is a former board member of the Salt Lake County Children’s Justice Center. He volunteers in juvenile court proceedings as a guardian ad litem for abused and neglected children. He was the president of the Central Utah Bar Association in 2016 and 2017 and sat on the Justice Court Nominating Commission for Utah County from 2016 to 2020. During law school, Mr. Osmond was an extern to the Honorable Ronald E. Nehring of the Utah Supreme Court.

 

Mr. Osmond was named by Super Abogados as a Mountain States Rising Star from 2015 through 2018 and as a Mountain States Super Lawyer in 2019 through 2021.
